What to wear and bring:
- Our farm is prone to be windy. Please consider appropriate clothing for wind.
- If it has rained recently, please consider sturdy boots (mud boots or hiking boots). The farm tour route passes through areas of dirt (or mud if wet).
- Please consider appropriate clothing for the temperature.
- Please consider a water bottle.
- If it is sunny, please consider a good sun hat and/or sunscreen.
- Mosquitos can sometimes be an issue. Please consider appropriate clothing and/or apply mosquito repellent.
What NOT to bring:
Please do NOT bring any pets. Our livestock guardian dogs will not act nicely toward any other animals on our farm.
Physical Accessibility:
The farm tour route requires walking a distance of about 1100 feet over uneven dirt (or mud), grass, and gravel. There is a small, gentle hill. This tour is not really handicap accessible due to uneven ground. We do allow a vehicle to be used along the tour route if needed.
FSMA
We strive to follow FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) regulations. This means visitors' interaction with the farm will be slightly limited to achieve specific safeguards. A couple examples… Visitors will be required to wash hands before and after the tour. Visitors will not be allowed to walk into any gardens or touch any farm products. These regulations are intended to limit the exposure and spread of biological contaminants such as E.coli, Listeria Monocytogenes, and Salmonella.
